Day's album Vagabond peaked at #11 on the Billboard Album Chart and spent 47 weeks there, while his album Daybreak debuted at #1 on the iTunes Jazz Charts. He has collaborated with Postmodern Jukebox and his project Broadway by Day features Grammy-nominated artists like Dave Koz and Jane Monheit.

Day is also involved in philanthropic work and has volunteered with organizations like Feeding America and Border Angels.
